The Dissident’s Mic

The Dissident’s Mic is a two-person interview series featuring timely, in-depth conversations about authoritarianism around the world. Hosted by Casey Michel and Chelsea Hedquist, each episode is driven by a central compelling question and grounded in the firsthand experiences of dissidents resisting authoritarian power.

I co-launched the series and lead episode production from concept through distribution. I coordinate our guests and booking strategy, lead production design, and shape the questions our host carries into each conversation. I edit both the full episodes and the vertical clips that bring them to social, keeping a clear through-line from the long-form interview to the short cuts.

Every part of the series is built with audience and platform in mind, designed to make these conversations feel intimate, engaging, and important, while extending the voices of people fighting for freedom to a global audience. New episodes are rolling out now.

Oslo Freedom forum

The Oslo Freedom Forum is an annual international human rights conference in Oslo, Norway, bringing together activists, journalists, technologists, artists, and political leaders from around the world.

I lead the Forum’s video production strategy from planning through distribution, overseeing all event video needs, directing coverage across the three-day program, and managing the post-event content pipeline. During the event, manage local production teams, direct video capture and interviews, film and edit vox-pops, support footage capture, and live-cut stage talks for real-time release across our social channels.

My work at the 2026 forum allowed us to get a record number of our talks and panels to our channels in record time. My live cuts also brought over 6 million views across our channels.

My work extends the forum into digital spaces, translating the stories shared on stage into platform-native, engaging video storytelling that brings the voices of people fighting authoritarianism to a global audience.

NK Insider Forum

The NK Insider Forum is an international human rights conference in Seoul that centers the voices of North Korean defectors, experts, and advocates.

For the 2025 event, I led all video production from early planning through final distribution. I developed and produced event videos, hired and managed production partners, and oversaw on-site filming and playback to ensure seamless execution during the program. On the ground, I conducted interviews with activists and directed the production crew’s footage capture, shaping material that extended the conversations beyond the stage.

After the forum concluded, I hired and directed editors through post-production and release, shaping recap narratives, developing social-first content to promote and contextualize the event, and refining full stage talks into polished videos for distribution across our channels.

AI For Individual Rights Webinar

The AI for Individual Rights Webinar is an educational video series designed to equip activists and nonprofits with practical skills to use artificial intelligence safely and effectively.

I lead production for the series, coordinating with hosts and interviewees, filming each episode, and guiding the content through post-production. I edit the videos using a graphic system I developed, ensuring consistency and branding across episodes. The program pairs analysis with hands-on instruction, offering tutorials on prompt creation, vibe coding, and privacy-first AI tools while also examining how authoritarian regimes use AI for surveillance and repression.

College Freedom Forum

The College Freedom Forum brings world-renowned human rights activists into direct conversation with university students, creating space for meaningful dialogue on urgent global issues.

I lead video production for the event from early planning through release. I hire and manage production partners, develop and edit promotional campaigns to drive awareness and ticket sales, coordinate on-site filming, conduct interviews with speakers and students, and guide post-production. After the event, I shape recap films and main stage talks for digital distribution, extending the forum beyond the room.

In building the video strategy, I focus on how these stories connect with students. Universities are spaces where ideas take shape, and the content is designed to feel relevant and inspirational for students.
